Samsung will unveil the new Galaxy S23 series on 1 February!

As expected, Samsung is going to hold an event on 1 February where the new Galaxy S23 devices will be presented. Read more about this announcement and what to expect in this article!

Unpacked event
The media has been invited in full to the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023. It will thus take place on 1 February in San Francisco, 19:00 Dutch time. Rumours have been circulating for some time about the Galaxy S23 devices that are thus now going to be presented. Further details about the devices have not yet been made concrete, although the teasers show us that the S23 series will get improved cameras, which seems to be the focus point for Samsung. Also, pre-orders will start on the day of the event. Perhaps Samsung will also present more products, whether this is true we will have to wait and see.

What has already been leaked about the S23?
The answer to the question above is quite a lot. For one, the device is said to get Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Previously, Galaxy S devices still got the Exynos chips in the Netherlands. OnLeaks also shared renders of the devices a while back showing a modified design without a camera island. In addition, promotional images of the Samsung Galaxy S23 were also leaked. This also revealed how big the devices' batteries are likely to be and with what power they can be charged. According to these sources, the S23 will get a 3900mAh battery, while the S23+ will get a battery capacity of up to 4700mAh and the Ultra even 5000mAh. Charging would go with up to 45W while the regular S23 gets a maximum charging power of 25W. Also, the most expensive model, the S23 Ultra, would get a 200-megapixel main camera, a big step up from the S22 Ultra's 108-megapixel camera. The regular S23 and S23+ would get a 50-megapixel main camera.

Satellite function and competition
Samsung would also like to follow the example of the iPhone 14 and incorporate a satellite function. In emergency situations, the device can then reach emergency services via satellite, in places where there is no mobile coverage. The S23 series would also appear in several new colours. The new Galaxy Book 3 laptops are also rumoured to be announced. Samsung's competitors such as Xiaomi and OnePlus have also announced their flagship devices in China in recent weeks. For instance, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro have already been announced, as well as the OnePlus 11, while Motorola also unveiled its first ThinkPhone last week. So it is time for Samsung to show what they have got with the Galaxy S23!
